SUMMARY:Unfiltered Coffee Chat (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:If you’re feeling incredibly stressed right now\, you’re not alone.  \nWhen you combine a lifetime of varying levels of lived trauma\, professional challenges resulting from constant pushback to challenging the status quo\, and near-constant access to an alarming news cycle\, it’s easy to see why DEI and HR professionals (and the colleagues and communities that we do this work for) are under immense stress right now. \nTo address this shared burden\, DAIP’s February Unfiltered Coffee Chat will feature the incredible Rachael Gavin\, Founder and CEO of PR(iSM) Resistance Coalition\, an organization that “specializes in redesigning systems\, structures and policies from a diverse\, equitable and inclusive lens.” \nRachael will walk Unfiltered attendees through tactics for facing the exhaustion of DEI work\, and the trauma of living in difficult times\, with an empathetic and healing lens. \nThis program was submitted for HRCI and SHRM CE credits.

SUMMARY:Reshaping Power Structures through Black Resistance (Virtual)
DESCRIPTION:Join DAIP virtually as we highlight BIPOC leaders and changemakers who are bringing power-shifting solutions to their work in Rhode Island communities. Since DAIP is framing all of our 2023 programming around transformative action\, this Black History Month we’re focusing on Black Futures\, and amplifying the work of leaders who are challenging the status quo to transform workplaces\, communities\, and society as a whole.  \nDAIP founder Linda Newton will moderate this important conversation with the following panelists: \n\nEquity-minded higher education leader Stephanie Akunvabey (Vice President for Equity and Inclusion and Chief Diversity Officer at Roger Williams University)\,\nCommunity developer Leslie Moore (Owner\, Core Collaboratives)\,\nNonprofit founder and community activist Juan Wilson Jr. (Founder\, The MUSE Foundation).\n\nThe panel will highlight methods to influence and shift power dynamics\, whether one is inside or outside of traditional power structures. Attendees will leave empowered and with the tools to take action within their own spheres of influence. \nThis program has been submitted for HRCI and SHRM CE credits. \nREGISTER TODAY
